Gift Boxes and Gift Messages

REI makes it easy for you to order, gift box and mail great gifts to your family and friends. Start at REI.com's Gift Shop and we'll help you pinpoint perfect presents for all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts. Once you've discovered gifts they'll love, add the items to your Shopping Cart and proceed to checkout.

At checkout, click the box under the "Sending a Gift?" header, and you will then be able to choose among the following convenient gift-giving options:

Add a Special Touch with an REI Gift Box

Each REI gift box is adorned with an attractive green border, featuring pine tree prints and beautifully designed descriptions of America’s most beloved outdoor destinations. A matching gift note, complete with your personalized message, is also included. Note: irregular-size items may be delivered in a green reusable gift bag with drawstring closure.

Remove Price Tags

Choose this option and we'll remove the price tag(s) and send the order invoice to your "Billing Address." The person at the "Shipping Address" will receive the items and a packing list with item numbers but no prices.

Gift Message on Packing Slip

You can include a gift message on the packing slip too. Just enter your message in the space provided.

How to Gift Box an Item in Three Easy Steps!

  1. Check the box at step #6 of checkout to indicate you are sending a gift.
  2. At the gift-delivery options page, click the button next to each item you'd like gift boxed.
  3. When you choose gift boxing, we'll also include one free personalized Gift Note with your order. Just enter your message in the space provided.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Most oversized items are not eligible for gift boxing. If an item can't be gift boxed we'll let you know on the product page
  • Your gift order may come in multiple gift boxes. At the time of shipping, we will select the box sizes and number of boxes that best accommodate the items you have selected for gift boxing.
  • Irregular-size items may be delivered in a green reusable gift bag with drawstring closure.
  • We recommend letting recipients know in advance that they'll be receiving a gift from you in the mail.
  • International orders are not eligible for gift boxing.
  • We ship all price information with international gift orders to meet Customs regulations.
