Giving Back to the Community

At Novara, we're as passionate about getting folks to ride bikes as we are about designing bikes. Which is why we, as part of the REI family, regularly donate bikes, gear and money to support cycling in all of its forms. It's all part of the our master plan to get the entire planet riding bikes. Read about some of our favorite charities and programs below, and learn more about the way REI gives back to the community, too.

  • Trips for Kids
  • This national nonprofit organization provides the materials, moral support and inspiration that an individual or group needs in order to successfully start a Trips for Kids Chapter and help disadvantaged kids discover the joy of mountain biking.
  • Chicagoland Bicycle Federation
  • Their mission is simple: to improve the bicycling environment and thereby the quality of life in the region. The Federation does this by promoting bicycle safety, education and facilities, and by encouraging use of the bicycle as an energy-efficient, economical and non-polluting form of transportation and as a healthy and enjoyable form of recreation.
  • Neighborbood Bike Works
  • Located in West Philadelphia, this nonprofit educational organization seeks to increase opportunities for urban youth through bicycling.
  • International Mountain Biking Association
  • IMBA creates, enhances and preserves trail opportunities for mountain bikers worldwide. Since 1988, IMBA has been bringing out the best in mountain biking by encouraging low-impact riding, volunteer trailwork participation, cooperation among different trail user groups, and innovative trail management solutions.
  • Adventure Cycling Association
  • Founded in 1973, this nonprofit organization has 41,100 members nationwide. They aim to inspire people of all ages to travel by bicycle for fun, fitness and self-discovery.
  • Marin County Bicycle Coalition
  • The mission of this nonprofit membership organization is to promote safe bicycling for everyday transportation and recreation. Their goal is for 20% of all trips in Marin to be made by walking or bicycling.
  • Bikes Belong Coalition
  • Bikes Belong Coalition is a membership organization founded by bicycle industry leaders with the mission of "putting more people on bikes more often."
